The jobtrainer national partnership agreement is an initiative of the Australian government that aims to support the upskilling and reskilling of the Australian workforce. The focus of the agreement is on providing affordable training and education to job seekers and workers who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The jobtrainer program will provide an additional 340,700 training places to help Australians gain new skills or retrain in areas of high demand. The government has committed $1 billion to the program, with an additional $500 million investment from state and territory governments.

The program targets industries that are expected to experience strong growth in the coming years, such as health care, social assistance, and construction. It also focuses on areas with high youth unemployment rates, such as hospitality and tourism.

The jobtrainer program is available to any Australian citizen, permanent resident, or temporary visa holder with work rights. It provides training in a range of areas, including Certificates I to IV, diplomas, and advanced diplomas, as well as short, non-accredited courses.

The training is delivered through registered training providers (RTPs), who must be approved by the National Regulator for Vocational Education and Training (VET). The RTPs are selected based on their track record in delivering quality training and their ability to provide training that meets the needs of the local labour market.

The jobtrainer program also includes support for apprentices and trainees, including a 50% wage subsidy for eligible employers who hire an apprentice or trainee between October 5, 2020, and September 30, 2021.

The jobtrainer national partnership agreement is an important initiative that will help Australians acquire the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing labour market. By providing affordable training that meets the needs of employers, the program will help to create a more skilled and adaptable workforce that can drive economic growth and prosperity.
